  • What is Food Sovereignty?

“Food sovereignty is the right of peoples to healthy and culturally appropriate food produced through ecologically sound and sustainable methods, and their right to define their own food and agriculture systems. It puts the aspirations and needs of those who produce, distribute and consume food at the heart of food systems and policies rather than the demands of markets and corporations.”

Stories that Impact.

Stories are the centerpiece of the work we do. Our souls connect to the humanity of each others lived experiences.
Here is a smattering of videos I find move me; and hopefully you as well!

Prior Projects

At the height of COVID 19, when the world was under lockdown, families that were considered “essential” workers, those who made sure the U.S. continued to be fed, were lacking the same basic access to food and care. Through a partnership with LULAC National, Vacunate Hoy was managed and pushed through vaccinations for our immigrant populations within SW Washington. We worked with local Public Health to ensure that 5 commercial packaging warehouse employees were given access to the vaccines. We placed popup vaccine clinics onsite and then came back for the 2nd round of vaccines as well!

  • Barrier Free Mercados! We needed to find a way to provide emergency food relief to families who were falling through the cracks of the traditional food system. We chose the mercado style program to give access, dignity and choice to families.
